When I was young, all I wanted was the thrill of owning a winning racehorse. I couldn’t afford much, but the dream was always there.

Like many, I started with small shares, hoping luck would play its part. Sometimes it did — but I didn’t truly understand why one horse made it and another didn’t. That question stayed with me.

Everything changed when one of my early horses, Manhattan Times, reached Group 1 level. Instead of simply celebrating and moving on, I wanted answers. Why this horse? Why this pedigree? What separated it from the rest?

I went deep. Books, data, pedigree software, theories and advice from every angle — much of it conflicting. Eventually, I stopped relying on opinion and began studying the pedigrees of Group 1 winners themselves.

Clear patterns emerged. Consistent ones. I learned that elite fillies and elite colts are bred differently. That million dollar budgets aren’t a requirement for quality. And that many of the best racehorses come from factors most people overlook.

Signature Pedigrees was born from that work — years of research, plenty of mistakes and a genuine desire to cut through the noise this industry is famous for.
